Our lesson today will involve a PowerPoint presentation about Short Stories. You will be downloading this from the link here. When the box appears, choose SAVE. It is very important that you save this file into your folder on the school network. Make sure it is saved into a sub-folder called English.
Once the file is saved you can play the slideshow and read the information. There are also activities to be completed. You will be able to type your answers directly into the presentation.
When you have finished, make sure you save it again with your answers included. You will be prompted to do this at the end of the presentation.

I have set up this blog page for you to use in class. The part you are looking at now is the class blog. I have also set up an individual learner blog for you. When you are contributing to a blog, whether it is the whole class blog or your own individual blog, it is very important to maintain your privacy and use first names only when commenting on someone’s blog or work they have done.
You can access your learner blog at home, or anywhere where there is internet access. Your parents are also welcome to check out our blog and add comments. In fact, I would love you to encourage them to have a go at responding to our blogs.
I am going to be spending some time in class soon showing you how to blog. It is important for you to read the Blogging Guidelines page before you start blogging. I hope this new tool will encourage you in your writing and reading. The blog will not be a personal one, as it is mainly meant for classwork, however, there will be opportunities within your own learner blog to add your own personal links to your own favourite websites and so on.
